Through my Looking Glass

As I grow and cultivate my own artful journey, I have been actively taking note of how others live creative artful lives. We don’t have to be artists to live artful lives, but we do have to be observers. Artful living can show up in the way we cook, and adorn ourselves and our spaces. How we send mail or give gifts or how we care for others. Living an artful life can be so many things.

As I have mentioned in a previous post, I had the privilege of looking at a dear friend’s jewelry design work and grouping the pieces into collections, it was transformative for me in many ways, but mostly because it was a journey through her thought process. I believe art and creativity are the cornerstones of peace within ourselves. Well, at least for me it is. I found through my journey, that I want to create the most artful life I can with the time I have left on this planet (I worry way too much about running low on time).

I want to create, cultivate, grow, taste, feel, explore, paint, make, experience, and color my way through the next chapter of my life. If you are like me then I challenge you to observe your surroundings and the people in it, they are full of juicy insights. Observe how they travel through their own lives and what brings them joy.

A dear friend of mine hosts an open house just before Christmas. She invites people to come to her home and experience a sensory delight of what it means to be an artist, curator, collector, baker, and all-around lovely human being. I was able to attend this year (lucky for me). I was so over the moon to be able to attend and it far surpassed all of my expectations. I could have gaped at her art collection for days and still not have seen it all. The history of her life and her story is awe-inspiring. I won’t be able to do the experience justice but thought I would share some of my favorite finds.

Her name is Andrea. ArtigianoJewelBox is her website. I linked to her blog, to share even more of her journey. You can find her jewelry there as well. Below is just a quick moment in time. Most of the work you see below has been crafted by Andrea. She has an old-world flare, rich in the feeling of the Renaissance era. Her aesthetic is romantic, delicate, and exquisite. A delightful day for certain.
